Personal 1-on-1 Japanese lessons with a native Japanese teacher

Learning Japanese has always been a goal and a dream of mine growing up. I faced many difficulties trying to teach the language myself and understanding it, giving up multiple times. However, learning with MoreRisu has been such an amazing journey and I have learned so much, making that dream a reality! Not just about the language, but also the culture, history of Japan itself, its people, and so much more! She is very kind and always makes sure I understand something, and has excellent strategies for breaking down even the most complex concepts so they're easy to understand! I look forward to continuing my lessons with her and will always recommend her to others wanting to learn Japanese!

I started learning Japanese on my own, but as my trip to Japan got closer, I realized I needed more structure and real life practice. That's when I started working with Risu. Her tutoring sessions were incredibly helpful, especially role-playing real travel scenarios, which made navigating Japan feel easy and way less intimidating. I've continued my tutoring with Risu since my trip, and now I'm working toward taking the JLPT N5 in 2026. I love learning with her and am so thankful for all her support and guidance.

I started as a beginner learning Japanese to better communicate with my Japanese friends. Learning with Risu has been such a great time. She will listen to how you want to learn, your goals, and where you want to be in X time, and create a great learning experience from it. I have referred other friends to her and they have also really enjoyed her tutoring!

My goal with learning Japanese is to be able to talk to the Japanese twitch streamers I watch, as well as, one day when I visit Japan, I will be able to know what they are saying and what the signs say. As for learning through MoreRisu, I always have a great and fun time during lessons — from greetings, to the actual lessons, to the free chat at the end. I do learn and try and work on speaking and using what I learn. I will always be happy with how much fun, and how informative and patient MoreRisu is. I always thank her for the lessons, she is a great teacher to learn Japanese, I definitely recommend learning from her.

I'm a mature student studying Japanese to further my career goals. MoreRisu has helped me better retain vocabulary and gain confidence when speaking. The lessons are always comfortable and she takes time to explain grammar in depth when I struggle to make the right connections. She has a fluency with English that allows her to explain grammar very clearly where textbooks can't, and can always explain the difference between textbook language and real spoken language. I hope that she can help me push through N3 and beyond!
